Today, August 1st, begins the nine-day week of Jerry Garcia. He was born on this date in 1942, and died August 9th, 1995. Be kind to a Deadhead today... it won't hurt you, I promise! Stephan Zielinski's The Feedback Loop Between the Media and Superstition. I found this on sheer fluke, but SZ's been an (online) friend for no less than 7 years, and is one of the funniest people I know.

I'm always the last to know these things. Discovered via the Clavicle Recordings site's referrer logs, damnfine.org an anti-folk resource site that looks new but full of potential. And through that, the long-awaited online version of AntiMatters, a little zine devoted to the downtown anti-folk scene.
